Scope and content

The fund came to the Archives of Writers and Regional Culture in 2012 following a donation made by the Association "Archives and Documentation Center of Regional Culture" to the University of Trieste.

The Fund includes documentary assets and the personal library of Bruno Maier. The materials were presented in folders labeled by subject and sorted by Maier himself and his wife, Enza Giammancheri.

The very heterogeneous documentation refers to Bruno Maier's activity as a lecturer and literary critic. Preserved are texts for articles and lectures, handwritten and typewritten notes, his articles in print and by various authors, notebooks with bibliographical notes, posters and materials related to exhibitions and conferences, documentation from associations in which Maier was involved, photographs of manuscripts used for research and publications, critical editions, excerpts from articles of literary criticism, handouts from university or other courses, mostly typewritten versions of texts by various authors, drafts of writings, and journals with articles by Maier.

Papers related to Bruno Maier's novel "The Absentee," collect reviews and documentation: of particular interest is the text for the theatrical and radio reduction.
